Kharon

Senior Designer, Digital & Interactive

Marketing - New York City, NY - Full Time

TL;DR Kharon is seeking a full-time, Digital & Interactive Senior Designer based in New York City. This role requires in-office attendance at least 3 days a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a senior design partner to marketing leadership, helping translate strategy and business goals into effective digital experiences.
  • Collaborate closely within the marketing team, including with content, web, demand generation, events, and beyond
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the organization, with an emphasis on product, to ensure evolution and unity of design across the company.
  • Contribute to the evolution of design standards, workflows, and review processes across marketing and in collaboration/coordination with design functions and leaders across the company.
  • Provide mentorship and day-to-day leadership to one direct report, ensuring quality, consistency, and professional development.
  • Lead design execution for high-impact digital initiatives, including: Website pages, landing pages, and modular web components, interactive content (reports, microsites, campaign experiences), digital marketing assets across email, paid media, social, and more.
  • Own projects end-to-end, from concept through rapid prototyping, production, iteration, and refinement.
  • Ensure work is thoughtful about usability, accessibility, performance, and scalability across devices.
  • Bridge design and development by rapidly prototyping functional web experiences using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude, v0, Bolt), reducing the gap between concept and working product — while partnering with engineers on production-ready implementation
  • Use AI tools and prompt-driven development to quickly build working prototypes, test interaction concepts, and validate design directions before committing to full engineering cycles
  • Apply and uphold Kharon’s visual identity across digital touchpoints, maintaining a high bar for craft and detail.
  • Think in systems – designing reusable treatments, templates, and frameworks that scale across campaigns and channels, leveraging AI-assisted workflows to accelerate the creation and iteration of reusable components and design-to-code pipelines.
  • Provide constructive critique and feedback, balancing creative rigor with business realities and timelines.
  • Know when to advocate strongly for design quality and when to adapt to constraints without unnecessary friction.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8+ years of professional design experience, with substantial depth in digital, interactive, and web design, and a demonstrated ability to continuously adopt emerging tools and methods.
  • Demonstrated experience operating as a senior individual contributor within marketing teams or digital agencies.
  • A portfolio that clearly reflects: Web and digital-first design work, campaign-driven marketing experiences, interactive or complex content (not purely brand or print), strong grounding in UI/UX principles, including information architecture, interaction design, accessibility, and usability best practices, with the ability to apply these concepts pragmatically within marketing and CMS-driven environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Figma as a primary design and collaboration tool & working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (as needed for marketing asset production), and demonstrated comfort with AI-powered design and development tools such as LLM-based coding assistants and prompt-to-prototype platforms.
  • Experience designing within and alongside CMS-driven environments (e.g., modular pages, templates, reusable components).
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools - such as Cursor, Claud, v0, Bolt or similar - to rapidly build functional front-end prototypes, iterate on interaction concepts, and accelerate design-to-development handoff without waiting on engineering resources.
  • Proven ability to collaborate closely with engineers and web developers and independently produce working front-end prototypes, with hands-on familiarity with HTML/CSS/JS and AI-assisted coding workflows.
  • Strong design judgment, attention to detail, and ability to translate abstract goals into clear visual solutions.
  • Experience at a leading digital or creative agency, particularly on high-profile or globally recognized brands is a plus!
  • Background working with complex, B2B, technology, or intelligence-oriented subject matter and familiarity with UX principles, conversion-oriented design, and performance-driven marketing environments is strongly preferred
  • A track record of integrating AI tools into your design practice, not as a novelty, but as a core part of how you ship work faster and at higher quality, is a significant plus.
  • Prior experience contributing to or helping shape a growing design function would be superb

Kharon is a highly disruptive and incredibly innovative organization that navigates risk at the intersection of global security threats + international commerce.

What does that mean? Great question.

Operating at the nexus of global security, Kharon is on a mission to revolutionize the current landscape. We take really complex data as it relates to global security and empower our clients to not only understand the risk associated with their potential business relationships but to operationalize that data so that they can make the best and most informed decisions possible. From financial crimes and sanctions to export controls and threat identifications, our tools optimize protection against the types of risks that could otherwise be incredibly dangerous and excessively costly to any business. Serving many of today’s leading global financial and multinational institutions, Kharon products are the most powerful in the space with a precision and depth that is absolutely unparalleled.

When you look at any major global crisis event, we’re providing intelligence that’s at the heart of those circumstances. We connect the dots in a way that’s meaningful. Now, we’re experiencing unprecedented growth. As the world continues to evolve in complexity, so too does the demand for our products. Given the significance of our work and the increasing global reliance on our insights, we are looking for a Senior Designer, Digital & Interactive, to join us as we work to shape the way businesses perceive and navigate global risks.

Kharon is seeking a Senior Digital & Interactive Designer to help lead and scale our marketing design capability, with a strong focus on digital, interactive, and web-based work. This role is designed for a seasoned digital designer who combines high creative standards with pragmatism. This role requires someone who sees AI-augmented design and rapid prototyping not as a trend, but as a fundamental shift in how great digital work gets made — and who’s already working that way.

The Senior Designer will serve as both a hands-on individual contributor and a leader within the marketing organization, shaping how design supports campaigns, web experiences, and audience engagement. This is not a brand-only or print-led role; depth in digital environments is essential.

To keep that momentum going, we do our very best to make sure that each and every team member is completely taken care of. We’re nothing without our people and we strive to offer a package that reflects that. As a Kharon team member, you can expect:

  • Fully sponsored medical, dental, and vision
  • FSA program for both medical and dependent care
  • 401k + Roth with matching and immediate vesting
  • Paid time off + 11 paid holidays

The base salary range at Kharon is set between $125,000-$145,000. Please note that this figure does not necessarily include potential bonuses, commissions, benefits, or equity that may be part of the overall compensation package.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
